Your nose is a very sensitive part of your body, and you should always take care of it. Nose piercings are more common than ever before- millions of people have one or many piercings on their noses: women and men alike!
However, there comes a time when the holes in your nose will close by themselves because they are healing. To make sure you are allowed to change your nose piercing, you should read this article!
When can you change your nose piercing?
You might have been told by a friend to be able to change your nose piercing when the hole in your nose has closed. This is wrong- there is no magical age, and you should consult a doctor before you try to change your nose piercing. Also read out: Everything You Need To Know About Wearing Bodycon Dresses
There are a number of different factors that can influence how long it will take for the hole to close. This includes:
-Your age – the younger you are, the quicker it will heal – however, even as an adult, your nose can take as little as two months!
-The size of the hole – a larger hole will take longer to heal than a small one. However, there is no guarantee that you won’t change your piercing a few months after you get it!
-Your overall health – being healthy will mean your body can work on healing the piercing, as opposed to dealing with other issues, such as illness.
-How well you cared for your nose piercings – if you clean them regularly, don’t touch them too much and keep your hands clean, you are more likely to have the hole stay closed.
It is important that you do not try and change your nose piercing until it has properly healed. Only then can you be sure that the wound will not rip open again when it comes time for a new ring or stud!
How long does it take for a nose piercing to heal?
The answer to this question is not as clear as you might like it. Healing time can vary from as little as two months, all the way up to a year! It depends on so many factors, including your age, how long you have had your piercing for and how well you take care of it. There are some things that are not an indication of healing time, such as:
How much do you touch your piercing?
The more you touch it, the longer it will take to heal. However, if you avoid touching your nose piercing for fear that it will be sore or take a long time to heal, this is just going to stress you out and make matters worse. Good hygiene is important for any piercing, but it does not affect the time your piercing will stay open.
As with all piercings, if you are worried about something, then go and see a doctor or nurse! You can always get checked out at your local walk-in center if you don’t have a doctor to go to.
