How to tell if brownies are done?

If you are using your oven’s convection setting and the brownies are not getting hot enough, then increase the temperature by 10 degrees C for every 10 minutes of cooking time. Brownies usually need about 15-20 minutes of cooling time after they have been removed from the oven. This gives them sufficient time to set before they become too warm and soft (or “melty”).

Step 1: Insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies. If it comes out clean, then they are done.

Step 2: Cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting.

Step 3: The brownies should be fudgy and not too soft when cut with a knife or a fork.

Step 4: If you want to serve them warm, then microwave them in 30 second intervals until they are hot, but don’t overheat them.

Step 5: If you want to serve them cold, then place them in an airtight container and freeze for a few hours.

Step 6: Remove the brownies from the freezer and cut into squares.

Step 7: The brownies will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

When you want to make chocolate chip cookies, you can get them done quickly by following these steps:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 325 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

Step 3: Place the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed for about 4 minutes until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides at least once during this time so that everything gets evenly mixed together. The mixture should be very pale yellow in color and smooth in texture when done.

Step 4: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until it’s well combined (about 30 seconds). Scrape down the sides again.

Step 5: Turn the mixer to low speed and slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Beat until just combined (about 30 seconds).

Step 6: Place 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in a small bowl and microwave in 10-second increments, stirring between each interval, until they are melted and smooth. Pour the melted chocolate chips into the batter and beat until it’s well combined (about 30 seconds). Scrape down the sides again.

Step 7: Using a 1/4-cup measuring cup, drop balls of cookie dough onto your prepared baking sheet about 3 inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes then remove from oven. When you stick your finger in one of them, it should come out clean but slightly sticky to the touch.

Step 8: Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before serving them up with frosting or ice cream!

The brownies can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.

To frost them, spread a generous layer of frosting on top and garnish with sprinkles of choice.
