How to get sponges in minecraft?
Step 1. Look for an Ocean Monument somewhere in the ocean;

How the sponges are made?
Sponges cannot be manufactured like other items. You have to find them in Ocean Monuments, the great temples that are randomly generated in the middle of the ocean. To use a sponge
Just place it near the water like an ordinary block. It absorbs all adjacent blocks of water up to seven blocks away. If there are other water source blocks further away, they will likely retake the area quickly, but a sponge can suck up all the surrounding water if there is a limited amount. After absorbing water, the item becomes a wet sponge and needs to be placed in an oven to dry and be reused. A tip for drying several sponges quickly is to simply place them in the Nether, where the water evaporates immediately.
