How to thicken chili sauce

Chili paste and chili sauce both are prepared from chili peppers. Chili sauce differs from one place to another place like in China, the chili sauce is oil-based.

Here we describe how to thicken chili sauce. There are several ways to thicken chili sauce. But we will describe the most used way to thicken chili sauce.

Evaporate the extra water

Generally, the sauce is thinner when it has more liquid. So if somehow remove the extra liquid then the sauce will become thicker. Evaporating the water from the sauce is the most common and used way.

For this process, all you need to do is take a pan. Try to choose a thick bottom pan so that the sauce doesn’t burn quickly. A Pan lid isn’t mandatory because here we are trying to remove the water from the sauce. If we close the pan with a lid then the vapor can’t go out from the pan and the process will not fruitful. You also need a large spoon to stir the sauce when you heat the sauce otherwise the sauce will burn.

Firstly take a clean pan and pour it with the sauce. Set the pan on the stove and set the flame to medium. Don’t pour the pan fully because if you fill it fully then you can’t stir it so pour the pan three-fourths. Not sit them for 8 to 10 minutes then stir it and do it until your expected result come.

This procedure not only makes your chili sauce thicker but also hotter.

Mix tomato paste

Mixing tomato paste is also one of the famous ways but there is a problem it reduces the chili sauce power. Generally, mix the tomato paste before serving it. This tomato paste doesn’t change the chili taste except for the power of the sauce.

When you heat the chili sauce with a pan then add the tomato sauce and check that the current thickness is okay or not. When the sauce turns to your expected thickness then don’t add more tomato paste. Now close the pan with a lid and heat it for a few minutes.

Cornmeal

When you add cornmeal you have to maintain the ratio between cornmeal and chili sauce. Add 5 to 6 tablespoons of cornmeal with 100 ml of chili sauce. In this process, you don’t need to add any water. Just add the cornmeal and it will absorb the liquid from the chili sauce and also help it to be thicker. Now take the mixer in a pan and heat it for 5 to 6 minutes. when you simmer the mixer try to stir it with a spoon.

Potato Starch

Believe it or not that potato starch can also use to thicken chili sauce. For this take 2 tablespoons of potato starch and 2 tablespoons of butter. Add these ingredients with chili sauce then stir it so that this ingredient mixes properly. You can do it when you are cooking the chili sauce. Heat the mixer for 10 to 12 minutes at medium flame.

Beans

Bean is also useful to make chili sauce thicker. Just take the beans and refry them or mash them. It is hard to mash the beans so you can use a blender machine. So you can easily mash them and these mash-up beans release the starches which make the chili sauce thicker.

You can add one cup of bean to the two cups of chili but this bean is so powerful. So when you add bean then remember it more bean means more powerful chili sauce

Conclusion

These processes are very famous but which one you will pick depends on you. But when you choose anyone then you have to properly follow it. Otherwise maybe lost its texture and taste.
